Lefty was a pirate, that's for sure. What we're not sure of is what kind of pirate he was. He could have been a high-seas swashbuckler, sure, but some folks say he was just a savvy business man, or a corporate banker. Still others say he was a record company guy from the fifties who struck it rich in rock-n-roll. Whatever his source of riches, Lefty managed to scrape together enough to buy Lefty's island back in the late 70's. All the deed says is, "Sold to Lefty the Pirate. Paid cash." Quite intriguing. It wasn't long after he purchased the island that folks started finding bottles washed up along the coast. First there was just one, then a few more. It created quite a stir, and folks started arranging junkets for themselves and their friends to Lefty's Island. What was in those bottles? What else - a treasure map, and a note... I, Lefty the pirate, having lost me right arm... Seems Lefty claimed to have
buried his loot on the island, and that's all most people need to go on
a quest. What they found on Lefty's Island was a truly beautiful
place that manag If you want to go diggin' in Lefty's white sand Talk to the pirate who owns all the land... Lots of people would like to talk to Lefty. Disgruntled treasure hunters, satisfied vacationers, and historians. Then of course, the EPA want to talk to him about illegal ocean disposal of bottles. The problem is, nobody knows where our pirate host is. For now, all we can do is enjoy the island, hunt for treasure, and be very thankful for the real treasure of Lefty the Pirate - a chance to leave stress behind and focus on love, friendship and peace.
